Music on the golf course used to be considered a violation of personal privacy. (Shameless Caddyshack reference)
But the game has changed and so has the ability for golfers to enjoy birdie-inducing ballads (per golf course and tournament guidelines of course) during their round. Who wouldn’t want a little Queen in their quest for golf course glory? Or some Hot Chip while working their way out of a bunker? And luckily with advances in technology, there are a variety of ways to pump the jam whether you are golfing in a group or enjoying the links solo.
Here are a few ways to appreciate your practice playlist or your tournament tunes. The most classic and effortless of ways is through a bluetooth speaker, like this one from Amazon shaped like an actual golf club! But be sure to check your course guidelines and keep the volume to a moderate level out of respect for other groups who may not share your enthusiasm for the Backstreet Boys. Feeling more incognito, try listening to music out of your water bottle, yardage device or even your golf bag! 😎 These links are not commissionable, we just wanted to provide you with examples of said products. Feel free to do your own googling.
Feeling more private with your playlist? Wireless headphones are for you. With professional golfers using them to give TV interviews during tournaments now, earbuds are becoming more common on the golf course.
Then there are the vibe-conscious courses with speakers built into their carts or even strategically placed around the greens themselves. Short courses, for example, have become popular for piping music in to create a relaxed, fun environment for the 120 minutes of play.
However music may play a role in your golf game, we at the NCGA wanted to share our staff picks for the ultimate golf playlist! So, in honor of Spotify Wrapped, enjoy all our favorite golfing songs below and on Spotify under “NCGA 2023 Golfing Playlist.” Play well!
