Junior Tour of Northern California Crowns Winners at Fall Series I Championship at Cypress Lakes Golf Course 

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (August 30, 2023) – The Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC) opened up its 2023-2024 season and crowned champions at the Fall Series I Championship at Cypress Lakes Golf Course.

Nick Savano shot 5-under par 139 and Asterisk Talley shot 10-under par 134 to win their respective divisions at the Fall Series I Championship at par-72 Cypress Lakes Golf Course.

Savano notched the first win of the 2023-2024 season thanks to back-to-back rounds carding under-par scores. In the opener, Savano posted 1-under 71 that saw him chalk up three birdies, fourteen pars, and a double bogey. A day later, he carded a 4-under 68 to hold off runner-up Ben Friedman by two shots. Savano carried serious momentum heading into day two, coming up with an eagle on the par-5 10th hole in addition to his three birdies during round two. He would go on to win the championship with an almost blemish free 36-hole total of 27 pars, 6 birdies, and an eagle. Ben Friedman was the eventual second place medalist finishing at 141 with rounds of 73-68, Friedman registered seven birdies and eagled the par-4 13th hole during play on day one.

Third place went to Philip Hu after a comfortable card-off where he triumphed over Ethan Allred, the two competitors tied at even-par 144 with Hu shooting the lower round (71) on day two. Ethan Allred was awarded fourth place.

In the Girls’ Championship, Talley became 2nd on the JTNC Girls all-time win list after securing her 20th JTNC tournament win and the first of what could be a record breaking 2023-2024 season. Talley was untouchable, beating her next closest competitor by three shots with rounds of 70-64 finishing the 36-hole competition at 134. The young phenom strung together 13 birdies solidifying her spot at the top by going bogey-free on day two. Talley, 14 years old, is only 8 wins back of Sabrina Iqbal’s JTNC Girls record that stands at 29 wins. She’d hold off runner-up Lily Peng by three shots.

Peng had a final round 69 to come in at 7-under 137. Third place went to Samantha Chiou at 3-under 141, beating our Hannah Stouder who earned fourth place finishing at even par 144.

In the Boys’ First Flight Championship, Aston Lim had a final round 71 to come in at 141, carding seven birdies while marching to victory in his first win of the 2023-2024 season. Lim defeated runner-up Jayden Jew by two shots, Jew finished the weekend at 1-under par 143, he had rounds of 73-70.

Third place went to Kevin He at 148. Sudhaamsuram Parvataneni missed out on a medal by three shots, finishing his weekend at 7-over 151.

In the Girls’ First Flight Championship, Teresa Ho had a final round 76 to come in at 151, defeating runner-up McKynlee May by six shots. Teresa Ho would card three birdies on the weekend. May’s runners-up medal came with a highlight, carding the most birdies in the Girls First Flight Championship at four. She would finish at 157 over the two rounds.

Third place went to Victoria Hang at 160. Annie Lu was fifth after rounds of 82-83 169.
