Cold Springs G&CC went wire-to-wire to win the annual NCGA East Sacramento Zone Championship at Poppy Hills.
The Cold Springs squad, made up of teammates Jim Park, Nicholas Weber, Derek Russell and Rick Blake, posted a final round 17-under 125 to come in at 34-under 250 playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.
Both Catta Verdera CC and Ridge Golf Club placed second at 262 after matching back-to-back rounds of 131. In the ensuing card-off, Ridge Golf Club earned second place.
Both Cold Springs G&CC and Ridge GC earned automatic spots into this year's NCGA Zone Championship, set for Aug. 21-22 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.

Cold Springs G&CC is the team to catch after opening day of the annual NCGA East Sacramento Zone Championship.
The Cold Springs squad, made up of teammates Jim Park, Nicholas Weber, Derek Russell and Rick Blake, shot a first round score of 17-under 125 playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.
Cameron Park CC is in second place at 127. Three teams--Ridge GC, Catta Verdera CC and Serrano CC--are tied for third at 131.
Only the two low teams will advance to this year's NCGA Zone Championship, set for Aug. 21-22 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
