Make it two for University of Washington senior Noah Woolsey.
Fresh off a medalist-earning performance at the Pac-12 Championship, the Pleasanton native remained hot, carding a medalist score of 4-under 68 at Tuesday's U.S. Open local qualifier at his hometown club of Ruby Hill.
Woolsey (pictured below), the winner of last year's California Amateur at The Preserve GC, posted three birdies, an eagle and a bogey.
Four players--Chanhee Ryu of Pleasanton, pro Blake Hathcoat, Jaden Dumdumaya and Eddy Lai---all finished tied for second at 71 to also advance to final qualifying.
Ryu is still in high school, while Hathcoat is a former standout at St. Mary's. In 2018, Hathcoat was medalist at the NCGA Amateur after posting a tournament record score of 7-under 65.
Lai, who played collegiately at UCLA, was the runner-up at the 2016 NCGA Amateur. Dumdumaya, meanwhile, is the defending Boys' Player of the Year on the Junior Tour of Northern California. Also still in high school, Dumdumaya recently won at the Drive, Chip and Putt Finals at Augusta National.
