The NorCal golf community lost a friend with the passing of  PWGA Legacy and NCGA Staff Member and dedicated volunteer Lee Ann Lobaugh.

Lee Ann joined the staff of the Pacific Women’s Golf Association in July 2011, where she was able to combine work and her love of golf.  She joined the NCGA staff in January 2020, when both organizations merged.  During that time, Lee Ann supported volunteer leaders behind the scenes with upwards of 500 events through the years, not to mention the events she conducted in person.  She supported junior girls with her work on the High School Tournaments and Girls' Golf Grants program.  Lee Ann retired from the NCGA in December 2021.

Born and raised in Arizona, she and and her husband Basil moved to California from Washington State to settle in Lincoln, where they made their plans for retirement.   Together they loved to travel and play golf.  They played courses as far away as Scotland, Ireland and Bermuda.  They traveled frequently back to Arizona to visit their children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed cruises with their family.

Through the years Lee Ann belonged to clubs at Lincoln Hills and Turkey Creek, where she served in volunteer leadership roles.   She also served on the Rules Committee for the Sacramento Area Play Days and was a regular fixture at the events.  She has always been gracious and professional in her work with the variety of people she encountered.  Lee Ann was always ready with a smile and a kind word.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She was a golfer,  traveler, game player, inspiring cook and a dedicated volunteer.  She fully embraced life as it presented itself and was always moving forward.  Lee Ann was a positive force and she will be sorely missed by those who knew her.

Per Lee Ann’s wish there will be no services.  The family has requested that those who are so moved consider a donation to a Hospice organization.
