Maybe it was because it was right around Halloween.

In any case, 42-year-old Green Valley CC member Trevor Macenski has had a believe-it-or-not stretch on the par-5 1st hole at Green Valley this October.

On Oct. 18, Macenski, a 5 Handicap Index, opened things up by making a 2 on the 452-yard hole using a driver and 4-iron.

Just five days later on Oct. 23, Macenski did it again, again using driver and 4-iron—Yes, there were witnesses and it was confirmed by head pro Mark Sherman.

“I jokingly told my playing partner, let’s do it again,” Macenski said. “When I hit my shot, I said, ‘It’s got a chance.’ I told the group I wasn’t walking onto the green until someone was with me.”

In honor of the feats, the club decided to honor Macenski by presenting him with an appropriately named bottle of ‘Double-Eagle’ wine. How did Macenski respond?

Today, he’d score yet another 2—his third—on the hole. You guessed it. Driver and 4-iron.

“The players on the second tee box saw it go in and confirmed it,” Macenski said.

According to the website Double Eagle Club, the odds of just making one double-eagle are 1 million to 1.

As of this afternoon, Macenski had no plans to head to Las Vegas or Reno. A lottery ticket, however, was potentially on the radar screen.

“It was all pretty magical,” said Macenski. “I’ve just been playing a decent amount of golf. I guess I’ve become more consistent.”
