NorCal junior golf phenom Asterisk Talley has made an announcement as to where she’ll take her highly celebrated game in the future.

On Monday, Talley on her Instagram account stated that she has committed to Stanford University. Still only 16 years old, Talley will head to The Farm in 2027, where she will play for head coach Anne Walker.

“Excited and humbled to announce my commitment to play Division I golf at Stanford University! This has been a dream come true for as long as I can remember, and I wouldn’t be here without the love and support of so many people,” Talley said on Instagram. “Thank you to Coach (Anne) Walker and the whole Stanford team, my family for always believing in me, my sponsors for always supporting me, my coaches for pushing me to grow on and off the course, my teammates and friends for keeping the game fun and challenging, and everyone who has encouraged me along the way. I can’t wait to continue my journey at Stanford and represent such an incredible program. Time to get to work!”

The three-time Junior Tour of Northern California Girls’ Player of the Year, who hails from Chowchilla in the Central Valley, is the NCGA’s defending Women’s Player of the Year.

In 2024, Talley became a national name. In what became an incredible stretch from late spring into early September, won the prestigious Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, had an eighth-place finish at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and a victory at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball title with partner Sarah Lim.

Later in the year, Talley shared low amateur honors at the U.S. Women’s Open, where she was the youngest competitor. She’d also finish as runner-up at the U.S. Girls’’ Junior and U.S. Women’s Amateur, where she became the first player in history to appear in three USGA championship matches in one year.

To top things off, and before heading back to school for the fall, Talley competed for Team USA in the Curtis Cup, where she beat world No.1 women’s amateur Lottie Woad, 3 and 2 in Singles. She also competed in the PING Junior Solheim Cup for Team USA, helping the Yanks to an 18.5-5.5 win over Team Europe.

A 2025 highlight for Talley was her win at the PGA Junior Championship in August. Talley finished with a 72-hole total of 12-under 273 (68-65-69-71) and held off hard-charging Zoe Cusack of Maryland to win by a stroke. During one stretch, Talley went 44 straight holes without a bogey.
