As one member described it, it was simply “dreamy.”
In late January, just two weeks before Rory McIlroy and other PGA Tour stars were set to arrive for the annual AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a group of 124 NCGA members teed off at Pebble Beach Golf Links as part of the second annual The Invitational at Pebble Beach Resorts Benefitting the NCGA Foundation.
The four-day event, a collaboration between the NCGA and Pebble Beach Resorts®, features one of the most unique packages anywhere.Members play (and compete) over rounds at Pebble Beach Golf Links®, SpyglassHill® Golf Course, The Links at Spanish Bay™ and The Hay. Due to the event being in late January, both Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill featured championship conditions. The event is also for a great cause, supporting the NCGA Foundation.
“I know golf, as a sport, probably does more good thanany other sport,” said NCGA member Bill Carver. “To be a part of this isamazing. We really enjoy supporting everyone.”
As a bonus, this year’s The Invitational was held under sunny skies. As for the competition, a Modified Stableford Points system isused, with both an Individual and Team Competition taking place. Participants may opt-out of the competition to just play recreational golf.
“I keep a close eye on the NCGA events and tournamentcalendar. I saw The Invitational, grabbed my friends and immediately signed up,” Lauren Bennett said.
Next time, make it you! Look for more information on the 2027 “The Invitational” at Pebble Beach Resorts to come soon! Due to renovation work, The Links at Spanish Bay will not be available in 2027, but it will be replaced by another premium venue.
