Junior Tour of Northern California Crowns Winners During Summer Series I Championship at The Reserve at Spanos Park

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (June 17, 2025) – The 2024-2025 Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC) crowned champions during the Summer Series I Championship at The Reserve at Spanos Park.

Drue Henry Sanchez and Stevie Umali both win their respective flights during the Summer Series I Championship.  

In the Boy’s Championship flight, Drue Henry Sanchez makes it three wins on the Junior Tour for the 2024-2025 season. Sanchez posted back-to-back rounds of under par golf as he carded a 67 during day one and a 66 on day two of the championship. Throughout the 36-hole event Sanchez managed to keep the mistakes to an absolute minimum, carding thirteen birdies and just two bogeys to win the Boys flight by five shots! Drue's  victory at Summer Series I leaves him ranked 3rd on the Boy's JTNC Player of the Year Standings, only 262 points behind the current leader Richard Ding. 

Runner-up was awarded to Richard Ding at 6-under par after he carded rounds of 69-69, making a total of eleven birdies with his most impressive play coming during round one where he went on a five-hole stretch of consecutive birdies. Third place went to Jayden Lizama of Saipan who also finished at 6-under par 138, Jayden carded rounds of 69-69 as well while carding a total of twelve birdies. Fourth place subsequently went to Leo Mcdonough where he missed out on the scorecard playoff as he also finished at 6-under 138, Mcdonough had rounds of 67-71 with twelve birdies to show for his fantastic play. 

In the Girls’ Championship flight, Stevie Umali wins by a total of two shots over Anita Lumpongpoung as she carded rounds of 72-70 to finish at 142. Stevie's performance at Summer Series I makes it three wins on the Junior Tour this season with her most recent victory coming at Spring Series III held at Paradise Valley earlier this year. Stevie carded a total of eleven birdies, her best stretch of golf came during play of round one on holes 13 through 16 where she picked up four straight birdies! Victory here has propelled Stevie up the JTNC Girls Player of the Year standings as she now sits in 4th place, currently she is 148 points back of 3rd place. 

Second place was awarded to Anita Lumpongpoung of Chowchilla after consistent rounds of 72-72 to finish at even par 144. Anita carded a total of seven birdies but fell shy of a potential winners medal as she double-bogeyed the penultimate hole resulting in her moving down the leaderboard. This is Anita's seventh top-three finish for the 2024-2025 JTNC season. Third place went to Kate Keith at 2-over par 144 as she carded rounds of 75-71, Kate picked up three birdies to make it her second medal finish on the Junior Tour this season. Fourth place eventually went to Hayley Fong at 4-over par 148, Hayley carded rounds of 72-76 making this her fifth top-five finish of the season.
