PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (April 17, 2025) – The Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC) crowned champions during the Spring Series V Tournament at both Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Courses.

Jack Boldt and Kelly Zhang both win their respective flights, with Boldt finishing at 4-over par and Zhang at 5-over par during a windy weekend on the Monterey Peninsula.

In the Boys Championship Flight Jack Boldt took control during round one carding a 73 at Bayonet that included five birdies, giving himself a one shot lead over the next closest competitor. Round two took place on a windy Black Horse course that provided very firm fairways and greens featuring tough slopes to putt on, Boldt would go on to card a second round of 3-over 75 which ultimately let him to a two shot victory over Cooper Westphal. Boldt carded a total of eight bridies over the weekend with his best stretch of golf being played from holes five through twelve during the first round, here Boldt produced three birdies and five pars throughout these eight holes. Victory here at Spring Series V makes it two 1st place finishes for the talent from Fresno, with his most recent win coming during Spring Series II at Riverside GC. Jack now sits at 6th on the JTNC Boys Player of the Year Standings with a mere 25 points separating him and a top-five ranking.

The runner-up was awarded to Cooper Wetsphal who carded rounds of 77-73 to earn his first medal of the season. Brandler finished with five birdies over the 36-hole event, with his best bit of golf being played on the front nine at Black Horse carding a 3-under 33. Jack Keller took third place after rounds of 79-72 to finish at 151, Jack picked up four birdies and an eagle on the par-5 12th hole at Black Horse! In the Girls Championship Flight, Kelly Zhang picks up her first win of the 2024-2025 JTNC season after rounds of 73-76 to finish at 149 earning herself a one shot victory. Spring Series V marks Kelly's third top-five finish of the season as she looks to use this momentum heading into the latter stages of the JTNC season. Zhang provided quite the first round performance as she notched a total of fifteen pars, one birdie, and just two bogeys, her best stretch of play being the ten consecutive pars she carded starting on the 9th hole and going until the 18th at Bayonet. Round two told a different story as the field struggled with strong winds and a difficult golf course, Zhang ended up shooting 76 which was sufficient in beating out Lucinda Wu and Gianna Singh for her first winners medal. Kelly is now ranked 8th on the JTNC Girls Player of the Year Standings with just 230 points separating her and the top-five ranked girls.

Second place was awarded to Lucinda Wu via a card-off as her and Gianna Singh were tied at 6-over 150. Lucinda carded rounds of 79-71 that included three birdies, with her second round total being the lowest of any girl in the field at Black Horse. Third place subsequently went to Gianna Singh of Elk Grove, Gianna had rounds of 75-75 with a total of six birdies as she looks to build momentum heading into future tournaments.
