Junior Tour of Northern California Crowns Winners at First Flight Tournament VI, Laguna Seca Golf Ranch.
First Flight Tournament VI Pairings/Results
In the Boys’ First Flight Championship, John Kirchenbauer came out victorious picking up his first winners medal of the 2024-2025 season winning by two shots over his next closest competitor in John Vargas. Clausing needed to maintain his consistent game during play of the final three holes and he did just that, carding three successive pars on holes 16, 17, and 18 helping solidify his spot at the top of the Boys First Flight leaderboard. Kirchenbauer shot a round of 5-over par 76, with a total of eleven pars and two birdies to go with his winners medal.
Second place was awarded to John Vargas who carded a front nine 37 paired with a back nine 41. Vargas carded two birdies, turning in a scorecard of 7-over par 78. Third place eventually went to Elliott Dunn of Foster City who shot 9-over par 80 which also included one birdie to show for his medal.
In the Girls’ First Flight Championship, Hea Jung picked up her first wn on the Junior Tour for the JTNC 2024-2025 season carding a 10-over par 82, as the Girls First Flight was playing to a par-72 versus the Boys' course layout of par-71. Jung's three pars during play of the final five holes were enough to hold on to her three-shot lead over the next closest competitor in Anika Minami. Jung carded a total of eight pars, scoring 42 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine. Runner-up in the Girls' First Flight was Anika Minami at 13-over par 85, Anika carded six pars with a scorecard of 44-41.
Third place in the Girls First Flight was awarded to Yilin Xia of San Ramon, Yilin finished at 14-over 86 and just one shot behind Minami.
The next event on the JTNC calendar is the Holiday Series I Championship held at Del Monte Golf Course and Pacific Grove Golf Links, both situated on Monterey Peninsula come November 25th and 26th. .
