The Importance of NCGA Club Representatives

Each of the NCGA’s nearly1,300 clubs have a team of leaders that direct and manage the various operations of the club, such as running tournaments, managing the Handicap Index reports or membership tracking.

At the NCGA, we want to ensure that we maintain contact with the critical contacts that are essential to NCGA club management and governance.

In helping us to achieve that goal, in 2024 we created a newly defined role of NCGA Club Representative. For 2026, we again are counting on Club Representatives.

What is an NCGA Club Representative?

The role of Club Representative is an evolution of several prior roles and is required for each club. The purpose of the role is to not only represent the NCGA to their clubs and represent their clubs to the NCGA, but also importantly to help club members better understand and engage in offered NCGA events and programs.

Responsibilities include
:

* Reviewing the monthly NCGA Club Newsletter and other NCGA emails(Monthly Tournament and Events Bulletin, the bi-monthly Handicap Revision email, etc.).

* Becoming familiar with what content is available on the NCGA website, especially the Member Club Resources section, Tournament Information and Customer Support.

* Attending occasional webinars and/or review the posted webinar content in a timely manner

* Most importantly - communicating relevant NCGA information and tournament offerings to the appropriate persons in the club and/or associated with the club as a non-member (e.g. club pros) in a timely manner.

Who is a good candidate for this role? We suggest someone who isn’t brand new to the club--rather someone who knows who’s who in the club and how/when to best inform those who need to be informed.

If you need to submit or change your NCGA Club Representative contact information, please go to the Member Club Resources page on our website at ncga.org/clubs-courses/member-club-resources.
