The Fountaingrove Club in Santa Rosa recently unveiled its new $20 million clubhouse to members and guests. The 22,100 square-foot building replaces the club’s former clubhouse that was destroyed by the Tubbs Fire in October 2017. BAR Architects of San Francisco was the clubhouse architect, BHM Construction of Napa was the general contractor and Landesign did the clubhouse landscaping.

The new two-story, 22,100 square-foot building is set on the same location as the previous clubhouse and proudly features the Summit Kitchen & Cocktails on the upper level, with Executive Chef Patrick Tafoya leading the culinary operations. The new building embraces wine country ease with understated elegance, while integrating indoor activities with outdoor spaces. The design features natural materials including stone, wood, glass and steel, while showcasing the natural beauty of the area with two outdoor dining terraces. The clubhouse’s first floor includes beautifully appointed golf shop, office space, meeting space as well as men’s and women’s locker rooms. Members were involved in the clubhouse design process through member surveys and focus groups, and chose not to include banquet space, focusing instead on intimate, small group moments.

Four-plus years after the Tubbs Fire swept through The Fountaingrove community, destroying 1,700 homes, the clubhouse, golf shop, dining facility, tennis hut and agronomy center, the Club is celebrating this commemorative moment, calling it “New Beginnings.”

“As I am standing on the outside patio of the Summit Grill and thinking of the words ‘New Beginnings,’ I cannot imagine a phrase that is more appropriate to describe the start the next phase of our journey together at Fountaingrove,” said Fountaingrove Club Board President Tom Hakel. “We have ‘managed’ our way through a ravaged facility, closures, temporary buildings and much more.  We start 2022 with a full membership, a spectacular clubhouse, one of the best golf courses and athletic centers in Northern California and an amazing team of executives and staff taking care of all aspects of our Club – all of this seemed hard to imagine in October of 2017. We truly are at a New Beginning at The Fountaingrove Club and the best is yet to come.”
