NCGA member Dhanajay (Dan) Kirtane and his daughter Latika Kirtane will never forget their round at Black Horse Golf Course in Seaside this past October.

On the par-3 15th, 70-year-old Dan teed off with a 7-iron from 168 yards out. Fellow member Sunil Raman, who had already hit his tee shot, saw the ball heading straight for the pin.

“It ended up landing softly, right at it, but then we lost it on the ridge,” Dan said. “Sunil said, ‘That could be close.’”

Next it was Latika’s turn. Playing from 101 yards out and using a 7-iron, the group watched as the 40-year-old’s shot fell into the cup.

“We of course celebrated. Then she got in her cart and went up to the green. Sunil and I were walking. As I got closer, I could not see my ball. I asked Latika if she could. She couldn’t see it either,” Dan said. “So she pulled out her phone and started taking a video as she walked towards the hole. She started screaming when she found my ball in the hole too.”

While Raman didn’t get an ace, he’d even make his birdie putt, giving the three a total score of 5 on the hole.

“Latika and I joked that we should’ve bought lottery tickets instead,” Dan said.

According to the National Hole-In-One Registry, the father-daughter feat has happened before. In 2011, a father and daughter made aces on the same hole playing Sunrise CC in Rancho Mirage.

The odds of two players making a hole-in-one on the same hole are 1 in 17 million.
