River Island CC went wire-to-wire to win the annual NCGA South Valley Zone Championship.
The River Island CC squad, made up of teammates Charlie Jeanes, Marlin Isaacs, Vernon Sue and John Wenger, carded a second round 6-under 138 Tuesday at Del Monte GC playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team to finish the event with a total of 18-under 268.
Lemoore GC and Fort Washington G&CC finished in a tie for second at 271 following final rounds of 135 and 139, respectively.

River Island CC is the team to catch after day one of the annual NCGA South Valley Zone Championship.
The River Island CC squad, made up of teammates Charlie Jeanes, Marlin Isaacs, Vernon Sue and John Wenger, carded a first round score of 12-under 130 at Poppy Hills playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.
Fort Washington G&CC is alone in second place at 132. Lemoore GC is third at 136.
Only the two low teams will advance to this year's NCGA Zone Championship, set for Aug. 22-23 at Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills.
Tuesday's second round will see play shift over to par-72 Del Monte GC in Monterey.
