Benbow

Benbow GC came back to take the title at the annual NCGA North Zone Championship.

Benbow GC, made up of teammates Travis Early, Justin Graham and the father-son tandem of Pat and Mack Goodman, carded a final round 14-under 128 Tuesday to come in at 27-under 259 playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.

Finishing just a shot behind in second place was the team of Canyon Oaks GC. Canyon Oaks GC had a second round 125. Gold Hills GC was third at 266. 

Both Benbow GC and Canyon Oaks GC earned automatic spots into this year's NCGA Zone Championship, set for Aug. 22-23 at Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills.

Gold Hills GC is the team to chase after day one of the annual NCGA North Zone Championship.

The Gold Hills GC squad, made up of teammates David Crandell, Eric Weber, Lon Alward and Jeff Ahern, posted an opening day score of 14-under 130 Monday at Del Monte GC playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.

In second place at 13-under 131 is Benbow GC. Redwood Empire G&CC is alone in third at 134.

Only the two low teams will advance to this year's NCGA Zone Championship,set for Aug. 22-23 at Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills.
