Torrey Pines High and Rina Kawasaki of Palos Verdes High were the big winners at the annual CIF Girls' State Championships at par-72 San Gabriel CC.

Torrey Pines won its sixth overall team title and first since 2013 thanks to a team score of 15-over 375 (best-five-out-of-six). Leading the Falcons was Zoe Jiamanukoonkit with a 69 and Kate Hu with a 70. Other Torrey Pines scores were Sehee Sim (75), Alice Koontz (79), Tyanna Jacot (82) and Zoe Salinas (82).

Torrey Pines also won in 2013, '12, '11, '10 and '04.

Second place went to Santa Margarita at 378. Orange Lutheran was third at 382. Stevenson had the highest NorCal finish, taking fourth at 392. 

Kawasaki (below) won dramatically, sinking a 15-foot birdie putt on the second hole of a playoff to defeat Jiamanukoonkit, who captured the Individual title in 2023. Both players finished regulation tied at 69.
