Boulder Creek GC broke away to take the title at the annual NCGA South Bay Zone Championship.
Having entered the final round tied with Santa Teresa GC, the Boulder Creek squad posted a final round 16-under 126 Tuesday at Poppy Hills to come in with a winning score of 25-under 261, playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team. Boulder Creek GC is made up of teammates Darby Bronson, Mark Harvey, Jeffery Stone and John Cook.
Santa Teresa GC, comprised of Joe Cruz, Mark Richmond, Francis Mendiola and Walter Robe, finished second at 266 after a final round 131. Pasatiempo GC was third at 270.
Both Boulder Creek GC and Santa Teresa GC earned automatic spots into this year's NCGA Zone Championship, set for Aug. 24-25 at Bayonet/Black Horse GC in Seaside.

Boulder Creek GC and Santa Teresa GC are tied for the lead after opening day of the 2026 South Bay Zone Championship.
Both squads opened play with identical scores of 9-under 135 at Del Monte GC playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.
Boulder Creek GC is made up of teammates Darby Bronson, Mark Harvey, Jeffery Stone and John Cook. Santa Teresa GC is comprised of Joe Cruz, Mark Richmond, Francis Mendiola and Walter Robe.
Tuesday's final round will see play shift over to par-71 Poppy Hills.
