Davis GC got hot to take the title at the annual NCGA Sacramento Zone Championship.
The Davis GC squad, made up of teammates Marshall Bambino, Fred Muller, Matthew Muller and Clifton Wentworth, posted a final round 15-under 129 Tuesday at Del Monte GC to finish with a total score of 34-under 252 playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.
Second place went to El Macero CC at 253 following a final round 130. Wildhawk PA, which had entered the final round as the leaders, slipped to into a tie for third place with Mather GC following a final round 140.
Both Davis GC and El Macero CC earned automatic spots into this year's NCGA Zone Championship, to be held Aug. 24-15 at Bayonet/Black Horse GC in Seaside.

Wildhawk Player's Association is the team to catch at the Sacramento Zone Championship.
WPA, made up of teammates Chuck King, Tony Potter, John Kanae and Robert Birch, carded a first round leading 20-under 122 Monday at Poppy Hills playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.
Three teams--El Maceo CC, Davis GC and Mather GC--are tied for second at 123.
Only the two low teams will advance to this year's Zone Championship set for Aug. 24-25 at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course.
