Each year, the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) recognizes the Most Improved Junior Girl Golfer, celebrating a young player who has demonstrated significant growth in her game.
Elizabeth (Avani) Jadhav was named the 2025 Most Improved Junior Girl Golfer after an impressive year of progress, lowering her Handicap Index from 19.3 to 2.7 with an improvement factor of 2.128.
Jadhav was presented with the award by Audrey Cormier, NCGA Board Member and Tournament Official, on Friday, Aug. 28, at Poppy Ridge Golf Course. She was joined at the award presentation by her parents, Ramesh Jadhav and Shilpa Kharat; her brother, Arjun Jadhav; and Coach Armando La Rosa.
A junior at Castro Valley High School, Jadhav grew up playing several sports, including basketball and soccer, before ultimately finding her passion for golf. She credits her father with introducing her to the game by bringing her along to the driving range when she was young. Eventually, he handed her a small golf club and encouraged her to take a swing. From there, lessons followed and her interest in the game continued to grow.
Today, Jadhav plays and practices regularly at Redwood Canyon Golf Course, Metropolitan Golf Links and Lake Chabot Golf Course. She also competes for the Castro Valley High School girls’ varsity golf team under Head Coach Armando La Rosa. Looking ahead, Jadhav hopes to continue her golf career at the collegiate level while pursuing a degree in neuropsychology.
