Lance Parker was officially named the 98th president of the Northern California Golf Association at Wednesday’s NCGA Annual Meeting, which was held at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach.  Other board members for the 2026 NCGA golf season were also confirmed at the meeting. 

Parker, a member at San Luis Obispo Country Club, has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2019. 

Parker succeeds Kevin Peyton, a member at San Jose CC. Also seated were Vice President Bill Carle and Secretary/Treasurer Cathy Stroh. Current NCGA Board members that were re-nominated for 2026 were Dana Carrigan (sixth year), Karl Rodefer (sixth year), Bill Self (sixth year), April Kenyon (fifth year), Branche' Jones (fifth year), Erika Corradi (fifth year), Tyler Tharpe (fifth year), Greg Rhine (fifth year), Michael Braun (fourth year), Michael Smith (fourth year), Craig Oliver (third year) and Mike Woods (third year). 

New Board of Directors for 2026 are Bruce Charlton, Jerry O'Hara and Audrey Cormier. Peyton becomes the Immediate Past President. Preston Pinkney leaves the Board after six years of service. 

In other meeting news, NCGA CEO Joe Huston provided a report on the new Poppy Ridge Golf Course and other NCGA business.  The new Poppy Ridge 18-hole course, designed by architect Jay Blasi, opened in May 2025 to rave reviews. In July 2026, the course will host the 59th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship, featuring some of the best amateur players in the world.

There was also a report from USGA West Region Affairs Director Mike Sweeney, as well as the presentation of the 2024-25 NCGA Player of the Year awards. Winning the titles were Matt Cohn (NCGA Men’s Player of the Year), Kiara Romero (NCGA Women’s Player of the Year), Steve Sear (NCGA Senior Men’s Player of the Year), Karen Garcia (NCGA Senior Women’s Player of the Year), Bob Niger (NCGA Super Senior Player of the Year), Richard Ding (NCGA Junior Boys' Player of the Year) and Anita Lumpongpoung (NCGA Junior Girls' Player of the Year).
