Redwood Shores resident Lucy Li is headed back to the U.S. Women's Open.

Li, who became the youngest to qualify for the event in 2014 at the age of 11, fired a medalist-earning 7-under 137 in a 36-hole qualifier at El Macero CC in Davis after posting rounds of 74-63 on the par-72 layout. Her 63, which came in the afternoon round, featured zero bogeys and nine birdies.

This year's U.S. Women's Open will tee off June 2-5 at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club in North Carolina.

Also advancing thru the qualifier was Benicia native Kathleen Scavo at 147 (75-72).  Scavo, who will be playing in her third U.S. Women's Open, qualified for the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open at age 16 but missed the cut at Pinehurst.
