Contra Costa CC took the title at the annual NCGA Northeast Bay Zone Championship.

The Contra Costa squad, made up of teammates Jonathan Cramer, Mark Santi, Jim Dudum and Bob Baldwin, carded a final-round 6-under 136 Tuesday at Poppy Hills to come in with a two-day score of 23-under 263 playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.

Chardonnay GC finished second at 265 after a final round score of 128. Green Valley CC was third at 268.

Both Contra Costa CC and Chardonnay GC earned automatic spots into this year's NCGA Zone Championship, set for Aug. 22-23 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.

Antonio Torres had the shot of the tournament, acing the par-3 15th at Poppy Hills.

Contra Costa CC took the early lead at the annual NCGA Northeast Bay Zone Championship.
The Contra Costa squad, made up of teammates Jonathan Cramer, Mark Santi, Jim Dudum and Bob Baldwin--carded an opening-round 17-under 127 Monday at Del Monte GC in Monterey playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.

Buchanan Fields GC is alone in second place at 132. Vallejo GC is in third place at 133.

Tuesday's second round will see play shift over to par-71 Poppy Hills.

Only the two low teams will advance to this year's NCGA Zone Championship, set for Aug. 22-23 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
